BLAIRGOWRIE SAND DUNES

Situated on the sand dunes of Blairgowrie back beach, this space was an eroded, weed infested space when I first visited. This dune represented a large portion of the client’s property, yet was never used. Investigations revealed this dune provided beautiful views over the Mornington Peninsular so it was decided to create an evening entertaining space where they could come to watch the sunset and on cool evenings warm themselves around a fire (and maybe toast a few marshmallows!). An indigenous palette of plants was selected, and recycled timber and Corten used to blend with the colours of the environment. The result is a garden that is at one with the adjacent coastal park and an enticing space that’s hard to leave.
