SHADED DECK
A formal front garden, softened with seasonal flowering plants, leads through to a back garden designed around existing established plants such as Elm and fruit trees, Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias.
A raised deck was constructed around an Elm tree to protect it's root zone. Curved edges to the deck mimic the curve of the roof line. Existing brick work was extended to the deck to provide basketball and cricket space for four active boys.
Plants were selected for their ability to handle the impact of balls and children, while keeping faith with the existing period plants.
