KINDERGARTEN
A raised water channel curves around the back of this kindergarten sandpit and opens into a shallow pool. A tap on the side of this pool allows the water to be recycled by bucket to the start of the channel or, at the end of the day, used to water the native plants.
A timber bridge leads children into the sandpit, and sleeper balancing beams provide an alternate exit through the native grasses, Coast Banksias and Native Bluebells. A Coast Tea Tree tunnel leads children into the cubby house.
Yet to mature, this native garden will surround the children with interesting textures and forms while remaining fun and functional.
